I am so excited to share Carter & Maddy’s Chicago Botanic Gardens proposal session with you all! I had so much fun planning out all the details with Carter, he even had their families travel in as a surprise for after the proposal. Spoiler alert: she said YES! We kicked off the session at the proposal spot (The English Wall Garden), which is apparently a super popular spot for proposal photos because there was two proposals before ours, and I can totally see why! Then, we explored all the gorgeous areas throughout the Chicago Botanic Garden (this location is HUGE) and just had a blast exploring & stopping for all the cute hidden spots. These two are the sweetest, and I loved every second of our sunny love-filled day!

Chicago Botanic Garden or European Romance Movie Set?

We found so many amazing backdrops as we adventured around, and Carter & Maddy’s summer garden outfits matched absolutely perfect against all the gorgeous scenery. From the charming stone walls to the lush greenery and the dreamy, tree-lined walking paths, every spot was picture-perfect. I honestly felt like I was watching a romance movie unfold! They were so open-minded for all my prompts, and we couldn’t stop smiling and laughing the whole time. It was such a fun experience capturing these sweet moments for Carter and his now fiancé!! I’m so excited to see where their love story takes them next!!

The Chicago Botanic Gardens are like a hidden gem for european-esque proposal photos! It’s got this super charming vibe with its various styles of gardens, euro stone walls and structures, and overwhelming amounts of diverse greenery/florals. The English Wall Garden within is nestled against the water, lined with stone walls wrapped in ivy, and a gorgeous pergola & pond that completes the perfect proposal spot. Whether it’s the european-inspired gardens, flowing willow tress, or the open Rose Garden, Chicago Botanic Gardens really has it all. It’s perfect for capturing those playful, loving moments and adds a unique flair to your proposal photos.
